The grade 12 is awarded in cases where the thesis meets the following requirements to an excellent degree, i.e. with no or only few deficiencies. In their thesis project students must
  • Articulate a delineated problem within the program’s field of study that can facilitate and structure the student’s work on the thesis and its contents
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the theories and concepts of the program curriculum and a familiarity with key findings of the empirical literature
  • Show an ability to select relevant theories, concepts and findings from the empirical literature to frame their work and facilitate addressing their selected problem
  • Demonstrate an ability to select appropriate methods to address their problem
  • Substantiate and evaluate the chosen methods
  • Demonstrate skillfulness in carrying out an empirical project related to their problem
  • Show an ability to link insights from the program curriculum to build an analytical understanding of empirical work (bridging theory and practice)
  • Argue for the significance of the choices made during the work with the thesis
  • Discuss the results raised by the thesis project and specifically extract the implications in relation to business practice within the program’s field of study in general and the problem in particular
