Learning objectives
To achieve the grade 12, students should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor mistakes or errors: After this course, the student should be able to:
  • describe central legal issues relating to the subject dealt with in the course
  • identify concrete legal issues in real situations and suggest relevant legal solutions
  • analyse legal problems based on relevant sources of law, including by referring to particular articles and cases
Course prerequisites
The students must have passed the basic course EU Internet Law or a similar course.

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.

Course content and structure

This course elaborate on subjects introduced in the mandatory course, EU Internet Law. The course explores in depth 3 to 4 particular subjects that may concern various themes of the mandatory course. Examples of subject that may be covered are legal issues concerning social media, search engines, ICT infrastructure, internet crimes, online shopping, intermediaries responsibility, consumer protection etc.

 

Due to the advanced level of this course, the student should expect to read directives, case law, and academic articles.

Case-based teaching with focus on discussions of cases.
