Learning objectives
To achieve the grade 12, students should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor mistakes or errors:
  • Identify and describe a relevant communication project case in a company or other organization
  • Specify a project plan for the case project comprising relevant items introduced in the course, such as goals and scope, stakeholder analysis, project organization, risk analysis and work plan.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of concepts, theories and methods presented in the course

Description of the exam procedure

During the semester, students find a text production case in a company or organisation. The exam project consists of a project plan and a short discussion of theoretical and / or methodological issues.

Course content and structure

The central focus of this course is project management of communication projects concerned with text production, including multi-lingual text production. The aim is to enable students to develop convincing project plans, discuss such plans professionally, and manage projects.

 

Contents comprise relevant project management issues such as: The project and its organizational form, the project team, stakeholder analysis, risk analysis, mile stones, deliverables, quality management, evaluation of the project, succes criteria, estimating costs and benefits. Furthermore we will also study the concept of Process Maturity and relate this to processes involving text production and information development.

Teaching methods
Students will read literature about project management and prepare for discussion
of cases related to the literature.
In lessons, the focus will be disussion of cases and literature.
During the semester there will be assignments for hand-in in groups. Feed-back will be given on these.
