Learning objectives
To achieve the grade 12, students should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor mistakes or errors: After the course the successful student can:
  • analyze a complex situation by choosing and applying relevant theories and methods from the IBP curriculum to the situation,
  • justify the choice and application of theory and methods,
  • formulate and justify recommendations for actors based on the analysis.

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.

If ill at the ordinary oral exam, students are entitled to attend the retake oral exam based on the written group synopsis handed in at the ordinary exam. The synopsis must be resubmitted.

Students failing the ordinary oral exam must hand in a new 5 page synopsis to the retake.

Students who failed to submit a synopsis for the ordinary exam must hand in a new 5 page synopsis.
Course content and structure

This course is a three-week intensive case-based course which builds on the three other core-courses in the first semester (IBS, IPE and Law).

 

The course focuses on decision-making problems in complex real-life or simulated real-life situations involving international business and politics. It includes cases from the private for-profit sector, the private non-profit sector, and the national or international public sector.  It draws on theories and methods presented in the program’s core courses in international business strategy, international political economy and international economic law.
