Course content and
structure |
Innovation has become an increasingly crucial ingredient in
value generation and development of organizations and the human
enterprise at large. Nowadays, IT-driven innovation plays a pivotal
role in transforming organizations as well as industries. Business
models and best practices that were established over the past 100
years have become obsolete because IT changes the playing field and
the rules of engagement in most business sectors. Just consider
what Skype has done to the telecommunication sector or how the
Internet is changing the newspaper market. While advertisers prefer
to use their marketing resources on Internet advertising,
businesses are still struggling with how to react to social media:
is it a threat or an opportunity? How "free" services can
become a basis for sustainable business models? Moreover, advances
in mobile and wireless technologies are about to transform the
business landscape once again. Participants in the this course will
gain a thorough understanding of how these developments influence
businesses and the competitive landscape while also getting the
latest tools and techniques for managing business innovation.
Overall, the course provides a balanced mix of formal theory,
critical thinking, and hands-on experience.
