Det er en forudsætning for at deltage i den mundtlige prøve, at det skriftlige produkt er afleveret inden afholdelse af prøven; inden for fastsat frist. Karakteren gives på baggrund af en helhedsbedømmelse af det skriftlige produkt og den individuelle mundtlige præstation.

In case the student has handed in the synopsis, but is taken ill at the oral exam, the retake will be a 20 minutes oral exam based on a re-submission of the synopsis from the ordinary exam.

In case the student has not handed in the synopsis or has failed the ordinary exam, he/she must hand in a new synopsis prior to the re-take.
Beskrivelse af eksamensforløbet

Oral exam based on an individually prepared synopsis including a description of the communication situation. The student gives a 4-5 minute presentation beginning with a situation analysis and including relevant strategic considerations based on course theory and practice. The topic of the synopsis and presentation must appear relevant in a professional business context. 
Language: The synopsis must be written in English and the exam will be conducted in English only.  

Kursets indhold, forløb og pædagogik

The course is taught in English only. The course is examined in English
During the course students should focus on developing their oral communication skills in English towards meeting professional standards for correctness, clarity and relevance in a given communication situation. 

 

The course content will consist of relevant theory related to: pragmatics, e.g. speech acts, politeness strategies, conversation analysis, discourse and culture + vocal image, delivery strategies and English as a lingua franca.

Structure, argumentation, situational analysis and use of visual aids are other content areas that will be included.

 

Practical presentation exercises will focus on vocabulary training of correctness and language appropriacy in communication situations.

 

It will be possible to hand in two written assignments during the course.


 

Undervisningsformer
The course consists of a variety of teaching and learning methods in order to strengthen the students' competences in professional, precise and correct oral communication in English.
The course consists of joint lectures, classroom sessions and workshops including practical exercises in oral presentations, debates and meetings. Each student will give at least one individual oral presentation during the course. This presentation must be based on the marketing analysis conducted in Marketing Audit.
Furthermore, the students will work with case studies and engage in different interaction activities in groups.
Feedback i undervisningen
Self-evaluation, peer feedback and feedback from the lecturer will be given in connection with all student presentations.

Written assignments will not be graded, but commented by the lecturer.

Individual feedback will be given after the exam.
