methods for data collection and analysis, acknowledging their
benefits and limitations

Same examination form as the ordinary exam
If a student does not pass the
regular exam, the examiner of the ordinary exam decides whether a
new, revised or the same project must be handed in by the
submission date for the re-exam.
If a student is absent from the oral exam due to documented illness
but has handed in the written group product she/he does not have to
submit a new product for the re-take. However the group product
must be uploaded once again on Digital Exam.
If a whole group fails the oral exam, they must hand in a revised
product for the re-exam.

Course content and structure |
The course aims to serve as an integrator of knowledge and
insights from all SOL mandatory courses and their application to
concrete situations from practice. It is focused on the development
of a business project, for which students – independently and with
the support of a supervisor - are expected to collect and analyze
data, as well as to discuss implications, recommendations, and
limitations. An additional, equally important agenda, is to provide
students with experience in conducting research that could
subsequently support their Master thesis
efforts.
|
Teaching methods |
The course counts with a limited number of
sessions aimed at supporting students in developing knowledge and
practical skills that are needed for designing, conducting and
delivering a Master level research-based project on topics and
situations related to strategy, organization, and leadership. To
assist students in reaching critical milestones in the project’s
development, the groups they form count with a project supervisor.
The students' groups are expected to work autonomously on the
following aspects of the project: (1) research design and question;
(2) methods for data collection; (3) methods for data analysis, and
(4) reporting findings. |
Feedback during the teaching period |
Feedback will be given at the supervision
sessions. Clarifications on the project expectations will be
provided during office hours. |
