Learning objectives
To achieve the grade 12, students should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor mistakes or errors:
  • Understand the concept of personal leadership and describe and classify your own leadership style in that framework
  • Identify and explore individual and team behaviour from a leadership point of view in order to develop and motivate yourself, your team and those around you
  • Consciously select a leadership style appropriate for a given task and determine the thinking preferences and motivation levels of employees
  • Translate all theory from LDP into concrete action and behaviour – under pressure as well
Prerequisites for registering for the exam
Number of mandatory activities: 5
Compulsory assignments (assessed approved/not approved)
After each LDP module a reflection paper is to be written. Reflection will help the student gain a more comprehensive understanding of the subject and what it actually means to them. Often, theoretical knowledge is hard to translate directly into personal understanding. Reflection is, therefore, necessary. In LDP, reflection papers will help you transform the content of each module into personal learning.

Course content and structure

On your journey of personal and professional development during the MBA you will be able to explore what leadership is and grow your capacity for leading others in a sustainable way. To us leadership is more than organising a group of people with the purpose of achieving a common goal. It involves the whole body and mind of both leader and follower.

The Leadership Discovery Process (LDP) invites you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, learn your true leadership style, appreciate the differences in others and enhance your ability to work in teams. LDP will also give you a framework for leading through others.

Each module in LDP has been designed for you to actively build upon them. What you learn can be integrated with your past experience, your current situation and future aspirations. We invite you to engage in the creative process of discovering, articulating and shaping your unique identity in order to unfold your leadership potential.
