To achieve the grade 12, students should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor mistakes or errors:
  • Have skills in relating course materials to own empirical context.
  • Be able to identifying value creation in the supply chain. The student must also provide skills in relating business development and supply chain management.
  • Have knowledge about the agile, robust, and innovative supply chain.
  • Have knowledge about tools and enablers for data management in global supply chains.
  • Be able to analyze complex supply chain relationships and networks.
  • Have skills in measuring and managing flexibility, responsiveness, innovations, risks, and disruptions in the supply chain.
Course prerequisites
The target participants of the course are managers and specialists who are interested in understanding the latest developments in research on operations- and supply chain management. The course is relevant for managers and specialists who work with process management, operations management or supply chain management on a daily basis. The course is also relevant for managers who work in related disciplines (e.g. sales, marketing, general management, finance ect.), but would like to have an up to date insights on the latest developments within the field of operations- and supply chain management.

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.

Description of the exam procedure

The examination form is either an individual examination based on a synopsis of aprox. 5 pages or a group examination (aprox. 3 persons) based on a synopsis (max. 10 pages if 2 persons; max 15 pages if 3 persons).

 

The oral examination is estimated to 30 min. (+15 min per extra person) including grading.The grade given is an overall assessment of both the oral and written performance.

 

Course content and structure

The ability to design and manage processes and supply chains is a key competence in modern business development. Today, in order to innovate, develop, produce and deliver services and products, modern supply managers need to engage intelligently in the design and execution of complex business relationships, information technologies, logistics, global supply chains and performance measurement systems. These are all core themes in this course, which will cover the latest developments in research and practices in these areas with a special focus on business development and the agile, robust and innovative supply chain.

Teaching methods
The course uses principles of blended learning to support student learning processes. It is expected that students prepare well based on online materials before joining the 4 class room workshops. Students should reflect on how course material and theories can be applied in students own empirical context. Class room activities will include a combination of group-work as well as joint class room discussions, teacher- and student presentations.
