Learning objectives
The purpose of the course is that students learn analytical tools rooted in modern micro-economics

Specifically, the student should be able to
  • Account for different types of internal structures and processes in pulic and private organizations in an managerial economic perspective
  • Account for and explain how different transactions are governed and optimized both inside the organization and externally in the market
  • Account for and explain the implications of different strategic questions within the organization as well as in relation to its surroundings
  • Apply the (methods, theories and models) approaches of the course to carry out analysis rooted in managerial economics
Course prerequisites
The courses Business, Politics and Society and Managerial Economics II have one intergrated exam. You can only participate in Managerial Economics II if you also register for the other course mentioned above.

Course content and structure

The objective of this course is to provide the student with an understanding of how the organising of activities internal and external to the organization is approached within economics, based on the assumptions of bounded rationality within asymmetric and incomplete information.
Description of the teaching methods
The exam integrates the two courses, and the teaching in both courses consists of a mixture of lectures and students discussions.
Feedback during the teaching period
The course seeks to offer feedback wherever feasible. Lectures and classes will provide extensive opportunities for questions and answers. Students are also encouraged to take full advantage of faculty office hours if they would like to a chance to ‘test’ lines of argumentation, secure further information about course themes, or receive comments on written work.
