Description of the exam
procedure
Please note that this course is part of the Minor “Financial
Decision-Making in a Social Context: History, Sociology, Behavioral
Finance and Corporate Finance”. The exam form listed above refers
only to students who takes the course "Sociological and
Philosophical Perspectives on Finance" as an elective. For
students who sign up for the full minor, the exam form will be
different.

| Course content and structure |
|
"Sociological and Philosophical Perspectives on
Finance" takes its point of departure in the increasingly
important field of 'sociology of finance'. The aim of the
course is to provide students with a solid understanding of the
social aspects of present-day finance. This includes insights into
the organizational dynamics of trading firms; developments of
financial markets toward increasing computerization; and the role
of financialization, i.e. the broader effects finance has on
society. Teaching will be based on a mixture of lectures and
student presentations (students will be assigned presentations in
the first class)

| The course will be taught as a mixture of
lectures, class discussion, and student group
presentations. |

| Feedback in relation to lectures is integrated
into the respective classes. In relation to student group
presentations each group will receive feedback on their

"Sociological and Philosophical Perspectives on
Finance" is part of the minor in Financial
Decision-Making in a Social Context. Priority is given to students
