  • Identify and choose the relevant theories and models applicable to describe, order and analyze the problems identified during the analysis of a specific industry, the focal company, the strategic issues at stake and the implementation plan.
  • Bridge and combine theories and frameworks from different disciplines to derive a comprehensive, coherent and well-articulated picture of the industry, company, choice of strategic issue and implementation plan.
  • Use theories and frameworks to develop conclusions which are driven by data and insight and present in a convincing manner, ensuring that the conclusions from analysis are clearly communicated.

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.

The Final ISP is up to 5 pages plus four sub-reports as part of appendices and a number of PowerPoint slides

Description of the exam procedure

The summary should be written in English which is also the language of the ISP itself.

 

The exam consists of 20 minutes' oral presentation, 30 minutes' oral defense and 10 minutes' grading. The exam is structured to simulate a presentation to the board of directors.

 

The final assessment is made by the internal examiner and the external examiner as one combined grade based on an overall assessment of the written report including the executive summary and the oral presentation.


The assessment  shall not only be based on academic exam requirements, but also take into account the linguistic and the spelling abilities of the student, although with a major emphasis on the academic exam requirements.

Course content and structure

Writing the Master Thesis marks the completion of the MBA, but it also marks the participant’s ability to excel in utilizing the theories, models, frameworks and tools that the participant has encountered and worked with during the courses in the three terms.

The Master Thesis is comprised of work and results from the two integrated term projects and the final integrated strategy project, written at the end.

This is a project written on the participant’s own organization supported by academic counselling available to the students
Feedback during the teaching period
Feedback is given to the student together with the grade when written and oral exams have been evaluated.
