Course content and structure | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Innovation has become an increasingly crucial ingredient in value generation and development of organizations and the human enterprise at large. Innovation takes many forms and shapes; Technology driven innovation allows companies to fundamentally change the economics of their business, which translates into new business models and market segments. In the course we will attempts to go beyond the outcomes of a typical innovation process and look at the organizational drivers that can influence the process.
The course adopts a corporate entrepreneurship approach to innovation where the “innovator” or the corporate entrepreneur is at the core of the analysis. What makes some managers and employees more innovative and entrepreneurial than others? What motivates the corporate entrepreneur? How can organizations stimulate and direct the innovation and entrepreneurial activities of the corporation? These are the fundamental issues being addressed in the course. Overall, the course provides a balanced mix of formal theory, critical thinking, and hands-on experience. |
