Examination form Oral exam based on written product

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.

The student’s spelling and writing skills are taken into consideration in the overall assessment of the examination performance, but the academic content is given the highest weight.
Regulations regarding the summary The summary is in English and is a part of the project and should be about one page. The summary will be a part of the assesment.

The re-take takes place according to the same rules as the regular examination. However, the following supplementary rules apply:
For projects, where some of the group members receive a grade 00 or below at the oral defence, these students must submit, before the re-take, individual supplementary written material on aspects of the project specified by the examiner and external censor. For guidance in this respect, the examiner and external examiner will within eight working days of the oral examination give a written critique of the respective student performance and specify the supplementary material needed.
For projects where all members are awarded a grade of 00 or below at the oral deference, the overall project is deemed unacceptable. Before the re-take the project must be revised and improved. For guidance in this respect, the examiner and external censor will give a brief written critique of the project within eight working days of the oral examination.
Description of the exam procedure

The exam is an individual, oral exam in curriculum based on the Bachelor’s Project, written in groups of 1-4 students.
One grade is given, reflecting an overall assessment of the project, the oral presentation, and the defence. The student’s spelling and writing skills are taken into consideration in the overall assessment of the examination performance, but the academic content is given the highest weight.

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

Aims and Requirements
Guided by the project’s research question, the project can draw on knowledge from all three years of study. The Bachelor’s Project shows the students' ability to integrate knowledge by formulating an interdisciplinary problem and conducting a systematic and valid analysis within the framework of a complex theme.

The Bachelor’s Project is the final thesis in the undergraduate programme, and the objective and requirements should be seen as a continuation of the First and Second Year Projects. The requirements are naturally more rigorous than the former projects with regard to definition of the research question, methodology and use of theory and data.

The data to be collected as part of the project work may be in various forms of quantitative as well as qualitative data. In other words: Data from documents retrieved from the Internet or other sources, survey data and/or data from observations and interviews may be relevant.

Description of the teaching methods
Before project work begins, the Study Board annually prepares a manual that states the thematic framework, submission deadline and other conditions concerning project work process and organization.

Feedback will be given at the oral exam.
