Compulsory home assignments
The students must get one out of two mandatory home assignments approved in order to be registered for the exam.

There will not be any extra activities provided to the students before the ordinary exam. If a student cannot participate due to documented illness, or if a student does not get the activity approved, then the student will be given an extra assignment before the re-exam.

The extra assignment is a 10 page home assignment that will cover the required number of compulsory activities. If approved, the student will be able to attend retake.

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The aim of the course is to provide students with an understanding of the macroeconomic environment of

businesses. Such understanding is essential for key employees in both financial and non-financial institutions, corporations, and the government. The course focuses on growth, productivity and unemployment. Growth is a huge problem for the world economy these days, and productivity is a major challenge to the developed and developing economies. The course will also study the determinants of production, consumption, saving and investment.

Their interplay with growth and productivity is at the core of both short term and long term economic policies in the USA, the EU as well as other parts of the world.

Description of the teaching methods
These class activities will involve lectures and problem-solving exercises for a total of 42 hours.
Feedback during the teaching period
The teacher provides solutions to exercises allowing the students to check their abilities to solve relevant problems.The teacher will also give feedback on obligatory hand-in assignments.
