Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The course lays the foundation for applying business economics method to creative business processes. It defines the categories and issues addressed during the whole CBP. Students are introduced to issues associated with complex economic activities that are typically found in cultural industries and other creative industries. It also provides an overview of the industry structures in the creative industries, with particular focus on cultural industries.

Description of the teaching methods
Teaching will integrate lectures, cases and hands-on practical exercises. Guest teachers from the industry present real life situations for discussion in class. Students are expected to participate extensively in class discussions and to complete group work assignments. Please notice that the work load is intensive during periods with group work assignments.
Feedback during the teaching period
Four group presentations and class-based discussions with feedback to students' solutions and strategies.
Online 'Terms and Concepts' quiz at the end of the course.

Further Information

The course consists of 18 classes (13 sessions combining lectures and case study work, five workshop days) plus a workshop day dedicated to the exam project.
