  • Describe and critically discuss key theoretical and practical perspectives on the challenges of leading, managing, achieving results and developing talent in organizations
  • Define leadership, define organizations, and describe the interrelationships between the two in both theoretical and practical terms. Compare and contrast your definitions with key conventional and critical alternatives.
  • Compare and contrast the relative merits of conventional managerial and leader-centered approaches versus process relational approaches to leadership and organizational behavior, as well as the relative strengths and weaknesses of leader development versus leadership development.

The course will focus primarily on the analysis of cases chosen to help develop the ability of participants to analyze and to intervene in the social and organizational dynamics of leadership in a variety of different contexts. Classroom time will promote the analysis and discussion of cases and theoretical readings as well as the perspectives and experiences of class participants - high-energy discussion, debate, and interaction. For this reason students are strongly encouraged to bring their own views to the table and to share insights and learning with the rest of the group.

Feedback during the teaching period
The interactive case discussion format allows for continuous feedback. The students are expected to attend class, be prepared and participate in the case discussions
