This accelerator course is designed for those who are interested in starting their own companies or create projects within companies. The setup is based on acceleration models for start-ups and innovations (see Techstars, Ycombinator, Startup Bootcamp, Startup Reykjavik etc.). The CBS MBA acceleration model has been designed to build on knowledge and experience acquired during the CBS MBA programme. 

 

The purpose is to explore the start-up process of companies from an effectuation approach. The focus will be on understanding business concepts like business models, market development, prototyping, business platforms, pitching and use them to develop a business idea into a business development plan. The emphasis is on the practice of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial strategies. The objective is that students will be able to know the most important steps in the start-up process.

 

 

Description of the teaching methods
The accelerator course is mentor driven process with few short lectures. Mentors will help students to develop their business ideas during the course. The mentors are experienced mentors for accelerators, investors, researchers and entrepreneurs.



The main project of the course is to a develop a business idea, pitch the idea and to write a business development plan. This is an individual assignment

The interactive case discussion format allows for continuous feedback. The students are expected to attend class, be prepared and participate..
