Course content, structure and pedagogical approach | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
This course is an introduction to corporate finance that combines an overview of the principles of corporate finance and the sociology of finance and markets. It covers the core theories and concepts in corporate finance such as the theories of interest rates, valuation of financial assets and cash flows, and assessment of risk.
This course draws on corporate financial analysis in applying the theories and concepts to perform financial analysis and interpretations of the analytics.
In addition, the course aims to provide students the ways of developing an understanding of the larger economic context of corporate finance. Also, it will help students to apply financial analysis to develop solutions to complex and realistic problems. |

Description of the teaching methods | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
The course consists of lectures, exercises, and workshops and is taught as a blended learning course that combines in-class and online teaching. The online teaching will include exercises and feedback and aim to help students develop skills to apply financial analytics to solve problems. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Feedback during the teaching period | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Students will receive continuous feedback for
student presentations and exercises in a blended learning approach.
Collective feedback for online exercises will be provided on Canvas
throughout the course as continuous feedback. In addition, students
may get individual feedback during exercise classes and workshops.
The lecturer will be available for individual feedback during office hours and may prompt students to attend office hours based on their learning progresses. |
