The mandatory assignment is a portfolio document that reflects on how the current project fits into the students broader E-Business project portfolio (i.e. the T, P, and B projects), and how the project is perceived to contribute to the student’s preferred E-Business profile. The mandatory assignment is individual and should be 1-3 pages (i.e. one page per project). The assignment is not "academic", but should contain reflections on the progress of the student, the motivations for fitting the particular project in to the student's profile etc. If a student cannot hand in due to documented illness, or if a student does not get the acitivity approved in spite of making a real attempt, then the student will be given one extra attempt to hand in the portfolio before the ordinary exam. |

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The overall purpose of the project activities in the M.Sc in E-business is to work with a problem chosen by the student him- or herself, which falls under the general objective of the programme and provides the student with basis for progress towards the thesis work.
The project activities thus provide an opportunity to prepare for the master thesis. Furthermore, the idea behind the 22,5 ECTS E-Business projects is to use them in a cumulative way, so that the student may, for instance, form a business idea in the first project, plan how to carry it out in the second project, and execute the plan in the third project. It is important that the project activities during the 2nd and/or 3rd semester are used for information retrieval and work towards the identification of the thesis subject.
The P discipline (covered by P-courses) include topics concerning law, policy and regulation aspects.
A project that meets the policy/law requirements may include reflections and disciplined analyses of the ways law (national as well as international) impact the individual and organizational use and business application of digital technologies. It may also reflect on ethical, moral or other regulatory aspects.
In any case, it is important that the P-project has business relevance, broadly defined as per the overall E-Business programme. The report must thus include some considerations of the business/organizational aspects and implications of law and regulation. |
