In ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme Report’, the student must demonstrate:
  • Ability to account for the research question and its relevance in relation your company start-up process in ’the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’
  • Ability to account for the chosen literature’s relevance to the research question and to the start-up process in ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’
  • Ability to analyse, discuss and provide a perspective on the tasks performed during the start-up process in ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’, in relation to relevant literature

Course prerequisites
The startup will need to be approved by the Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship (CSE) by being enrolled in the CSE Proof Programme or be a CSE alumni company. Apply for the CSE Proof Programme here: http:/​/​cse.cbs.dk/​proof-programme
Contact the CSE for a written approval or CSE will contact you once you have done the online registration for the ‘CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’.

Internship with ECTS in your own startup:
Once your startup has officially been accepted to the Proof Programme, during an initial meeting with a CSE Business Developer, you can register for ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’.

Internship with ECTS in a startup:
The startup you will intern in, will need to be an approved CSE startup for you to be enrolled in the ‘CSE Entrepeneurship Programme’. Make sure the startup informs the CSE Business Developers that you will intern in their startup to get the approval for the ‘CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’.

60 ECTS: You need to have passed your first year at master level equivalent to 60 ECTS credits. We will check whether you have passed all first year’s courses before August 2018.

Description of the exam procedure

Requirements for ‘ the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme Report’

  1. You must have an academic supervisor, a CBS academic faculty from whom you are eligible for 4 hours of supervision if you are one student and 5 hours of supervision if you are two students. The purpose of the supervision is to ensure that ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship programme’ relates to relevant theoretical and empirical problems within the chosen study area.
  2. In cooperation with your CBS academic supervisor you must decide on a curriculum of minimum 1200 pages when ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ weighs 15 ECTS. The curriculum for ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme Report’ must only overlap with previously used literature by 400 pages. In ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme Report’ you may draw on – and appropriately refer to – the literature and textbooks you have used in your programme of study. The 800 pages of the curriculum requirements for ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme Report’ must be new. The student needs to document that the number of pages of literature equals the required numbers.
  3. You must submit 30 pages if you are one student and 50 pages if you are two students. The report must describe, analyse and discuss the tasks carried out and problems dealt with during ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ and/or the tasks with which your start-up company is engaged in, with the point of departure in a relevant theoretical and/or empirical literature.
  4. The report must be structured as an academic report with a clear research question, a literature review, a methodological section, and an analysis against the backdrop of the reviewed literature. The report must use appropriate academic referencing. Finally, it must include reflections concerning the academic skills learned at the MSc EBA program and used during ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’, as well as a discussion of your start-up process in relation to your further studies and career.
  5. The report must be written in Danish or English. It must include a 500 words executive summery written in English.
  6. The agreement with the CSE and documentation of the completed ‘CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ must be enclosed in Appendix.
  7. The report must be submitted digitally and will be assessed by the chosen CBS academic supervisor as examiner. The report will be graded according to the 7-point grading scale.
Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

‘The CSE Entrepreneurship Programme is an opportunity and a means to link theory-and-practice within entrepreneurship and prepare for the master thesis. Supervisor(s) and students need to comply with the guidelines in this document. Also, the second internal CBS academic project supervisor and examiner need to read this document, before grading ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme Report’.

 

 

‘The CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ can only take place at the Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship (CSE) at CBS.

 

To begin ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ you must have passed 60 ECTS credits of your MSc EBA program’s first and second semester courses. We recommend that you only begin ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ once you have passed all the exams at the first year. This will give you the solid academic foundation required for carrying out tasks during ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’, as well as heighten the quality of the written work you have to submit for examination after ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’.

 

We ask you to contact the CSE for finding the CBS academic supervisor before you begin ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ in order to ensure a purposive observation, data collection and reflection during ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’. The CBS supervisor is an academic faculty employed at CBS within the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship. During the first 6 weeks of ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ you should reach an agreement with your CBS academic supervisor on a topic and a research question that falls within the profile of the MSc EBA program.

 

General requirements

  • The work assignments must be relevant for your study programme.
  • The student, the CSE business developer supervisor and the CBS academic supervisor will align the objectives with ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ no later than one week after starting ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’. Ideally, the alignment is done before ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ begins. The alignment can be achieved through a physical meeting, an online meeting, or as exchange of e-mails/messages.
  • After ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’, the student and the CSE business developer supervisor must document that you have worked at the CSE during ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’. The documentation must be enclosed as an appendix to ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme Report’.
  • ‘The CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ is transferred as an elective and the requirements for ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme Report’ are the same as for a regular exam. ‘The CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ is part of your academic specialization and therefore the theoretical and critical reflection of the tasks and the curriculum must be at the MSc EBA level.
  • Reports’ during the year. The deadlines will be announced at ‘myCBS.dk’.
  • The length of ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ is 3 to 4 months and a minimum of 37,5 hours per week, corresponding to 450 hours student work. As a guideline 15 ECTS correspond to 450 student working hours.

 

Types of teams who can apply for ‘the CSE Entrepreneurship Programme'

All requirements listed above apply to the two types of ’CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’ mentioned below.

  1. The individual ’CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’. The student has an individual agreement with the CSE. The student hands in a report in accordance with the listed requirements. The report will be evaluated and graded.
  2. The group ’CSE Entrepreneurship Programme’. Students can participate in cross-department or cross-university arrangement, where students work in groups on a start-up project/concept/solution defined by the group or a university consortia. Based on the shared start-up process case, the student has to hand in an individual report that fulfils the listed requirements. The report will be evaluated and graded.
