After completing this course students should be
able to:
- Identify and describe digitalisation threats and opportunities
for your business
- Analyse the consequences of digitalisation by applying
complementary perspectives (digital platforms, digital innovation
strategies, managing the digital workforce, and digital delivery
models) within digitalization, as discussed during the
concentration
- Develop appropriate recommendations (strategies) for managing
digitalisation in your business in the future
- Reflect on the different opportunities and threats that
digitalization may create in your business

Course content, structure and pedagogical
approach |
Digitalization is changing the conditions for businesses across
industries. Based on the enabling capacities of digital
technologies, new business models emerge that are no longer simply
supported by digital technologies, but have digital components
inseparably inscribed into their processes and value proposition.
At the heart of this digital transformation rests an increased
orientation towards digitally enabled platform-based business
models and how they create value. Consequently, we see how new ways
of working emerge, where people and technology co-work to create
value. One of the key activities that is changing is innovation
within and across organizations, where digital technologies are
both the means and the end in innovation. The digital innovations
or resources need to be managed taking all new opportunities in
mind as well as new digital threats, such as cyberattacks.
With this as a background we structure the course according to
the following four elements:

Description of the teaching methods |
The interactive teaching methods we apply,
including in-class discussions, workshops, poster sessions, debates
and walk-and-talks as well as guest presentations will yield the
greatest benefit if you are prepared and ready for discussing the
topics in the course material. Consequently, you are expected not
only to read the material, but are also asked to reflect on its
contents. In addition to your individual preparation you are asked
to discuss and reflect upon some topics in groups. These group
discussions will give you an opportunity to compare ideas and
develop your thoughts of the topics discussed in class. |
Feedback during the teaching period |
Course participants will receive feedback
continuously throughout the course from both the teachers and their
peers. Teachers will be available during office hours to give
feedback or answer questions from students. In the classroom,
participants will receive both individual and group feedback on
their learning progress |
