Course content, structure and pedagogical approach
The A-Board is an advisory board program for small and medium sized companies focusing on business opportunities and larger companies focusing on innovation processes. Students will be evaluated on the basis of their participation on the board as team members.
The program will be structured around either start-up cases or innovation cases. The start-up cases are focused on companies in the early growth stages which are looking for helicopter view of the organization and to explore “what business they could be.” The innovation cases are focused on larger companies working with innovation projects which are looking for analysis of the business case of the innovations.
There will be an option to work on a student venture in a team of 2-3 students. This is a "reversed" A-Board where alumni will act as an advisory board for the venture. There will be a vetting process once the students have sent in their ideas so the most viable projects will be chosen. For 2020/2021 the programme aims for max 5 projects of this kind. |

Description of the teaching methods
Three to five students will be sitting on a board
of advisors, along with A-Board facilitator/chairman. Three board
meetings will be held with a 2-3 months interval. The objective of
the A-board program is to help students to understand the process
of entrepreneurship and innovation as well as gaining experience in
consulting and corporate governance.
Reversed A-Board option: 2-3 students will be entrereneurs on a self-selected but approved project. Experienced alumni will act as Advisory Boards. |
