Description of the exam procedure

An exam assignment wil be published 10 days (including 2 weekendens) prior to the day of submission.

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The course introduces you to the essentials of Corporate Finance. It is centered around the key financial decisions that firms face every day. In doing so, the course combines popular applied financial methodologies with practical examples and case studies.

 

In short, the primary focus of the course is to provide you with the necessary tools to be able to solve real-life financial problems. This ranges from determination of a project’s profitability to the impact of financial decisions on stock prices. The course will primarily take a financial management perspective and concentrate on the application of concepts. You will take an active role and analyze and discuss real-life cases in order to internalize the concepts presented in the course.

Description of the teaching methods
The participants are introduced to modern methodological and practical concepts in corporate finance using various pedagogical methods. This includes classical class teaching as well as many discussions of practical applications of the course material via e.g. case studies. Furthermore, participants will also gain hands-on experience by implementing concepts (e.g. in Excel) and providing concrete financial recommendations.
