A written case assignment based on a case or a subject chosen by the
teacher. The assignment must be formulated and given to the students at least nine days prior to the expiration of the deadline. It should be 15 pages long and submitted to CBS Digital Exam. The exam is held internally, and the assignment is put forward and assessed by the relevant faculty.

The make-up/re-examination can be held as an oral examination if the number of registered candidates for the make-up examination/re-take examination warrants that it may most appropriately be held as an oral examination.
Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

Innovation has become an increasingly crucial ingredient in value generation and development of organizations and the human enterprise at large. Innovation takes many forms and shapes;; Product/Service Innovation aims at creating an immediate competitive advantage through differentiation visible to the buyer, Process Innovation can lead to both differentiation and cost advantage, whereas business model innovation typically has a longer term strategic objectives.  In the course, we will look at the different forms of innovation and how organizations can drive innovation forward (drivers and barriers).
A unique element of the course is a special emphasis on “entrepreneurial” forms of innovation management, most notably intrapreneurship.
We will also look at tools linked to creativity and ideation. 
Questions that will be answered in the course are:

• What are the different forms of innovation and why are they relevant?
• What are the different ways companies can drive and manage innovation?
• What makes some managers and employees more innovative and entrepreneurial than others?
• What motivates the corporate entrepreneur/innovator?
• How can organizations stimulate and direct the innovation and entrepreneurial activities of the corporation?
• How do we manage a project “entrepreneurially”?
• What are the “tools” that companies can use to come up with ideas for innovation

Description of the teaching methods
Seminar: lectures, case discussions, mini workshops, guest lectures and class presentations. The class meetings are interactive and require ongoing engagement of the students. The interactive nature of the course requires attendance in order to acquire successfully the learning objectives.

Feedback is given to the student together with the grade when written exam has been evaluated.

The evaluation
At the evaluation unit at CBS’s Economic & Analysis department we ask you to evaluate the overall course. In other words if there has been exercise classes and lectures the evaluation should include both. We evaluate every course and faculty to secure and strengthen the professional level of the offered course.
