It is important to keep in mind that in spite of
the different focus areas the internship report for each internship
must include the following learning objectives:
- Present and discuss key current developments for the internship
company and its markets
- Describe your own most important learning processes in the
first three months of your internship
- Reflect critically on practical experiences in the internship
regarded in relation to academic theories and/or concepts from
previous classes in the BSc in International Shipping and Trade
program.

Description of the exam
procedure
The purpose is to write a report, which reflects your internship
experiences based on one or more theories and / or concepts from
the some of the previous courses in the BSc International Shipping
and Trade program.
The Internship Report will be based on four sections, which
mirrors the learning objectives of the course:
- Present and discuss the recent developments of the internship
company, and the main markets in which it is engaged
- Describe the most important learning experiences in the first
five months of the internship (including digital working methods
when relevant)
- Reflect critically on the practical-functional experiences of
the internship in relation to one or more specific academic
discipline(s)
- Discuss the mentor-mentee relation in the internship with a
specific focus on your learning processes in the
internship.

Course content, structure and pedagogical
approach |
The internship in a maritime corporation or organization is an
integrated part of the BSc in International Shipping and Trade
program. The students are requested to write an academic
report along with the studies in order to ensure the academic
relevance of the internship (The Internship Report).

Description of the teaching methods |
There will be a combination of online sessions
and in-class sessions about professional methods, mentor-mentee
relations and theoretic aspects of the internship. Individual oral
feedback to the internship report will be given at online sessions
at the end of the semester. |
