A written group assignment of max 5 pages. Groups are assigned by the teacher. Instructions will follow on Canvas. In case of documented illness or similar circumstances, an individual home assignment of max 3 pages has to be handed in prior to the retake. |

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach | ||||||||||||||||||||||
This course explores the challenges of global workplaces from managers' and employees' point of view. It brings up questions regarding what happens to the workplaces when organizations span geographical, linguistic, and cultural borders. The course focuses on management, human resource management, mobility, culture, identity and language aspects of the globalization. Whereas the main perspective will be managerial, employees' perspectives will also be introduced. Readings and lectures will present various theoretical perspectives on globalization and the workplace and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of these when applied to today’s organizations. |

The course is designed to integrate analytical and practical aspects of global workplaces. The course will include lectures, active participation of students through case analysis, group and plenary discussions. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Feedback during the teaching period | ||||||||||||||||||||||
The students receive feedback on their compulsory
case assignments in class.
During case and class discussions they receive immediate feedback in class on their inputs. They are also welcome to approach the instructor for additional feedback on their performance. There is no need to book time in advance for this, students can just email the instructor to schedule. |
