Make-up exam/re-exam
Same examination form as the ordinary exam
If the number of registered candidates for the make-up examination/re-take examination warrants that it may most appropriately be held as an oral examination, the programme office will inform the students that the make-up examination/re-take examination will be held as an oral examination instead.
Description of the exam procedure

The Exam is case-based using a contemporary case with relevance for the topics covered in the course. 

The exam output consists of two connected parts:

 

         An executive summary of maximum of 2 A4 pages

         A slide deck to support the summary of a maximum of 8 PowerPoint slides

 
Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

 

Aim of the course

The course aims at enabling students to critically reflect upon theories of relevance to international management. In particular, focus will be put on management theories that provide insights into business organisation and strategy in the international knowledge and network economy.


Through the sessions and excercise classes in this course students will learn to analyse and highlight the managerial implications in transforming an input to an organizational output. Or, in other words, to provide the participants with an elaborated and contemporary understanding of how work is being organized and managed. Emphasis will be put on precision in applying theoretical concepts in practical settings.


The course explores perspectives from managment and organizational behaviour theories to understand internal organizational structures and processes and their managerial implications.

The students will work with and gain analytical insights and understanding of concepts such as: 

  • knowledge creation
  • knowledge sharing
  • organizational behaviour
  • organizational change
  • Innovation
  • Risk management
  • The social side of business

 
Description of the teaching methods
The course consists of 10 sessions, and is a mix of large classes, online (pre-recorded) classes, and exercise classes.
Feedback during the teaching period
The students will receive continuous feedback during classroom teaching and during exercise sessions.

Also, we will be using exam cases from previous years where students can familiarise themselves with the format and get feedback on how to structure a good executive summary and PowerPoint presentation.
