Description of activities | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A combination of
assignment and presentation: The student must present the
results of their group project. They will present the analsysis of
climate change related action of a specific company using theories,
models and practices presented and discussed throughout the course.
They will hand-in a synopsis of the group project (max. 5 pages).
In addition the students must participate in minimum 80 % of the scheduled teaching. |

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The students understand the complexity of climate change and business. Combining lecture and interactive exercises the students learn about the science behind climate change (greenhouse gases, their relationship to weather and climate) and how climate change will affect different regions of the world and which actions can be taken. The students learn about how theoretical lenses to analyze climate change and business (examples could be Resource Based View and Dynamic capabilities). The students will analyze the climate change actions of a company. |

Description of the teaching methods | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The course is based on a combination of scientific articles, practitioner articles, and interactive exercises to understand climate change in business and organizational theory. The instructors will engage with the students through lectures, interactive exercises, discussions, presentations, and feedback sessions. There will also be group presentations where students will share their insights with the class to share and receive feedback on their learning from the course. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Feedback during the teaching period | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Students receive continuous feedback in these dedicated feedback exercise sessions for the development of their projects over the whole course. These sessions are a crucial element for students to learn how they can meet the specific learning objectives of this course. We also practice peer feedback in the exercise sessions. Feedback by the instructor will complement peer feedback. In the course examination, students receive feedback from the internal examiner. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
