  • Specify and define the problem statement and ensure the coherence between the problem statement, analysis and conclusion
  • Show a philosophical and economic approach to the subject of the report
  • Critically discuss/define the method of the report in its broad sense, which includes considerations on the practical collection of data as well as reflections upon the theory of science
  • Substantiate and critically reflect upon the theoretical system of terminology used
  • Establish a differentiated description of the empirical foundation which is subjected to an analysis in the report
  • Compose a report which is consistent, i.e. with a clear coherence between theory, method and treatment of the empirical problem statement

Internship and intern advisor

The student must have an internal advisor from the host company. The host is the contact person and mentor of the intern.

At the latest after two weeks in the company, there need to be an activity plan for the duration of the stay. In the activity plan, activities, supervised and unsupervised as well as tasks should be stated.

The duration of the stay is meant to be 10 weeks of working 35 hours a week, the last 100 hours should be spent on the internship report. The report needs to be handed in to CBS, who will also supply an examinator for grading the report.

The intern must hand in and application to the study secretariat, which will the be considered by the study board/an appointee. The application must consist of the activity plan, as well as a contract with the organisation.

There should be both an economic as well as a philosophical aspect in the report and in the work tasks performed during the internship.

The Internship report

The report treats a problem/subject which the intern has meet during his work/his stay, and which has given the intern cause for reflection. The report needs to be theoretically founded.

As well as the discussion of the problem in the report there needs to be a description of the process. This is defined as a description of 3-4 pages of the internship (the internship itself as well as the work with the report) considered as a process of development or formation – of knowledge as well as the learning process.

The report should be no longer than 30 pages, excluding the process description. One page is 2275 keystrokes.

The report, when passed, will account for a credit transfer of 15 ECTS to the students electives courses.

The supervisor

The intern must find his own supervisor. The supervisor needs to give written acceptance at the latest 2 weeks after the internship has been commenced. The intern must give notice to the study secretariat of this. It is recommended that the supervisor is consulted as to the formulation of the problem to be dealt with in the report, with due consideration to the theoretical foundations.
