• Demonstrate the ability to independently produce a qualified master’s thesis by applying relevant theory and methods appropriate to the analysis of a defined international and/or intercultural issue relevant to companies and organizations.
• Formulate an appropriate research issue or question that guides and structures the research and thesis writing process.
• Select, explain, and be able to justify theory used in the analysis to answer the research issue or question.
• Substantiate and evaluate the choice of methodology used to collect and evaluate data.
• Critically discuss the suitability of the data sources.
• Explain and evaluate the relationships between the research question, the selection and use of theory, the collection and character of empirical data, the analysis, conclusion, and quality of findings.
• Discuss the broader analytical and empirical results, including theoretical and philosophy of science implications of their corporate, societal and cultural contexts.

The master’s thesis is normally the last step in a graduate course of study, representing a research inquiry in the field of concentration, reflecting appropriate social science research method and offering original contributions. Orientation sessions and various workshops are offered in support of all facets of the thesis process.

The purpose of the master’s thesis is for the student to develop and manifest the ability to conduct a graduate level research involving proper description, analysis, and the crafting of an appropriate research issue using appropriate scientific theory and research method.

The general focus of the BLC master’s thesis, consistent with the BLC course of study, should involve a defined international and/or intercultural issue relevant to companies and organizations.
