Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The student is given a basic introduction and understanding of the Managerial Economics subject area.

Finishing the course the student must know/be able to apply economic theory using the Managerial Economics method for decision-making in organizations.
Managerial Economics refers to the application of economic theory, data analysis and decision science to examine how an organization can achieve its aims or objectives most efficiently.

Emphasis is placed on the students' uderstanding of the Managerial Economics  method and training to make the necessary assumptions and preconditions for finding a suitable model and developing solution proposals that form the basis for an interpretation and conclusion.

Description of the teaching methods
Lectures, exercise classes, case-based teaching.
Selected lectures and selected exercises are online.
Feedback during the teaching period
Feedback takes several, complementary forms throughout the course.
First, individual teacher-to-student feedback is offered weekly in oral form during exercises sessions. Such feedback consists of both a brief evaluation of the weekly exercises, and a suggestion on what topics to review.

Second, written teacher-to-student feedback is offered bi-monthly via online, multiple choice quizzes. Such quizzes help students test their knowledge of relevant theories, in line with the learning objectives.

Third, oral feedback is offered to student groups during office hours, which consist of a 2 hours slot offered weekly by appointment (at least 24 hours notice).

Finally, student-to-teacher feedback takes the form of a mid and final course evaluation, where students have the possibility to suggest changes and raise relevant issues in order to improve the course.
