Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

This course examines how enterprise value is created, allocated, and governed across the lifecycle of firms—from early-stage ventures to global corporations—through the integrated perspectives of operators, investors, and boards.

The course takes an international view of value creation, reflecting differences in capital markets, governance models, and managerial decision-making across regions, including transatlantic contexts such as the United States and Europe.

Students will develop a structured understanding of how strategic and financial decisions translate into enterprise value. The course bridges corporate strategy and corporate finance by focusing on capital allocation, performance measurement, and governance mechanisms that shape long-term value creation.

Through a combination of conceptual frameworks and case-based discussions, students will analyze business models, evaluate growth and profitability trade-offs, and understand how different stakeholders influence decision-making. Emphasis is placed on linking operational choices to financial outcomes and articulating clear, evidence-based recommendations.

Course Content:
Module 1: Foundations of Enterprise Value
Module 2: Capital Allocation, Governance, and Decision-Making
